Code of Ethics
Preamble
Te Kaihau Limited is a New Zealand based consulting firm.
Te Kaihau is its consultants.
Te Kaihau is a ruthlessly collaborative project: its edges are unclear.
Te Kaihau is a network of relationships.
Recognising that good relationships require trust, a Code of Ethics has been authored.
The Code of Ethics does not exhaust the moral values and obligations of a consultant.
Interpretation & Application
Personal activities having no connection to or effect on a Te Kaihau consultant's performance, are not subject to the Code of Ethics.
In interpreting and applying the Code of Ethics, Te Kaihau consultants are expected to act responsibly on the basis of an informed conscience.
The standards of the Code of Ethics are to be interpreted so that they are standards that others could not reasonably reject.
Standards
Objectivity & Independence
Consultants shall preserve their independence, and in giving advice shall adhere to the highest standards of objectivity.
Conflict of Interests
A consultant shall not act at the same time for two or more clients in potentially conflicting situations without informing all parties in advance and securing their agreement to the arrangement.
Confidentiality
A consultant shall protect the confidentiality of all client information.
Public Communications
Consultants shall take steps to ensure the accuracy and fairness of all public communications.
Nondiscrimination
Consultants shall not engage in discrimination based on age; gender; race; ethnicity; national origin; religion; sexual orientation; or any other applicable basis proscribed by law.
Comment. In interpreting this standard consultants shall be guided by section 19 of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act.
